My journey with HUMAN DESIGN

What I am Learning and Unlearning

I love how many people are familiar with their Human Design. It took me years to make sense of all the pieces, and even though I’m certified to offer sessions, I still feel like I’m just beginning.

My interest in Human Design grew as I tried to understand my own chart. Then I looked into my husband’s, my kids’, my mom’s, my clients’, and my friends’ charts. Before long, I had a folder full of designs that I often revisit and have a Certification that I passed the course in my hands.

A big reason I’m pausing to think about how I do my work—specifically the way I’ve been selling seats in my programs—is that, according to my Human Design, I’m a Generator. We are the most common type, natural doers and creative forces, meant to be magnetic and let things come to us.

Understanding how my identity is constructed outside of Human Design frame (knowing my reactive ego well), allowed me to see that I was working against my natural design. Example: I already know that I am in my ego when I get inpatient and rush into things. According to my Human Design, I’m not meant to initiate or chase; I’m meant to do what brings me satisfaction and act only when I have something to respond to, to which I am a deep, gut-level yes.

For so long, I’ve been doing the opposite. As a creative soul, I constantly have ideas, get excited, and share them. But when there’s no response—which is often the case when I act from this space—I feel ashamed for putting myself out there.

Years of transformational coaching taught me to “push through” and keep going. That’s a good habit—but only when all the initial conditions are met.

So now, I’m unlearning. Seeing so many of you familiar with your Human Design inspired me to share. Are you using it to support what you’re up to? I’d love to hear your experience. It’s incredible that a simple chart can help us experiment with new approaches that might work better than our ingrained habits.

Please reach out to me to share—what do you see in your Human Design, and how much you know about it?
