Creating Life One Practice at a Time

I believe that any consistent practice has the potential to transform us. And even writing a weekly newsletter (especially when the topics are fresh out of my mind and not pre-written, inside of some template, strategy, etc.) really takes something.

It’s easy to give up. And it’s important not to. So, perhaps, to make our brains sane and not worry about “forever and ever,” it’s best to commit for a limited period of time.

I will do X every Y (day/week) until Z date.

When we break it up like this, everything is doable. We can endure the most painful of things if we know that it will end one day. And not to be morbid, but all of our lives will end one day, so the opportunity to “create a game to play” will be over before we know it. So GO FOR the things you always wanted NOW:

  • Explore the things you wanted to explore
  • Talk to people you wanted to talk to
  • Visit the places you wanted to visit
  • Do the things you wanted to do
  • Learn the things you wanted to know
  • Be the person you wanted to be.

And, since I am human too, I fully understand that there are times in our lives that feel like “my plate is full.” If this is YOU, then here is what I suggest:

Take a moment right now and put a 1-hour appointment in your calendar at a future date to explore what you want to go for. Call it CREATING MY LIFE and invite someone if you feel you need to be held to account. Then work on what’s on your plate right now, knowing that you scheduled the time to create.

Time passes fast, especially when we are not working towards something. Slow down the perception of it by using every minute of it.
